Good Morning Skiers and Snowboarders!

We had some mixed precipitation move through overnight, so it’s a little bit of a mixed bag to start the day. Expect a firmer, faster feel this morning with some variable spots that will keep you paying attention. Sharp edges are going to make those early laps a whole lot more fun.

Stick with it though, because this day is going to turn. Temps are climbing into the upper 40s, and as the sun works its way in and things warm up, the mountain will soften into that smooth, carveable snow we all love. It’ll go from crisp and quick to laid-back and cruisy by late morning and into the afternoon.

All 54 trails are open and ready. Wraparound, Wanderer, Whiteway, Wonderama, World Cup, Wingin’ It, Wicked, Wilbur, Wiseacres, and Lower Wipeout are set up for long, satisfying laps. If you’re in the mood to push it a bit, Wolf’s Prey and Upper Wipeout will keep you honest.

Westside Six (F), Wonderama Express Quad (C), Whiteway Express Quad (D), East Peak Express Quad (G), and the Wooly Bear Carpet (E), and Willpower (K) are all spinning.

By this afternoon you’re going to feel that warmth in the air. Jackets will be unzipped, goggles swapped to sun lenses, and the vibe will shift into that almost-spring energy while we’re still very much skiing. Start early for the firm stuff, stay for the soft stuff, and don’t be surprised if you end up taking a few extra laps.

We’ll see you out there.

Windham Mountain Announces

Initial Resort Master Plan

Windham Mountain Announces Initial Resort Master Plan

Windham, NY (July 27, 2023) – Following an announcement in April 2023 regarding new investment to support an exciting chapter ahead for the historic Catskills destination, Windham Mountain has presented a resort master plan to the Town Board of Windham. The presentation focused on the development of the acquired Fromm/East Side property, incorporating townhomes, single-family properties, lots, and green space. The plan also includes enhanced property beautification and expanded lodging. This strategic enhancement aims to provide a more comfortable experience for out-of-town guests, encouraging them to extend their visits and explore all that the destination has to offer.

The master plan outlines priority areas of focus, including the following:
• Continuing to ensure best-in-class skiing with minimal lift lines, increased snowmaking, and
upgrades to existing lift infrastructure
• Offering great food and beverage programs with the redevelopment of all current outlets and the
addition of a mid-mountain, Italian-Alps style concept debuting fall 2023
• Expanding and reinvigorating the existing Golf Course; and thoughtful amenities, including
swimming, racket sports, family activities and expansive outdoor all-season adventure activities
• Developing enhanced membership offerings for the existing Members’ Club

Developments will be ongoing through 2025, however, fall 2023 will see significant improvements to the culinary offerings at Windham Mountain. A new mid-mountain restaurant will debut, in addition to a revitalized food hall and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant inside the existing Lodge. “It is an exciting time at Windham and we look forward to expanding our season to feature robust year round experiences, while providing an ever-better experience to our loyal guests and members of the community.” says President Chip Seamans. “Our goal is to continue to offer unique opportunities for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the Catskills and immerse themselves in the refreshing destination that is Windham Mountain.” The enhancements to Windham will introduce hundreds of local jobs as the mountain upgrades its offerings and evolves into a four-season resort destination, encouraging guests to visit for longer periods of time and invest in the local community.

About Windham Mountain Windham Mountain is a premier multi-generational, four-season resort in the Northeast, located in the Great Northern Catskills, two and a half hours north of New York City. In 1960, Windham started as a private club before becoming a public mountain. Boasting 285 skiable acres across 54 trails and serviced by 11 lifts (four of which are high speed), the mountain offers an award-winning Ski and Ride School, lodging, on-mountain dining, a tubing park, and world-class alpine and freestyle competition teams. Summer offerings include a range of activities, such as mountain getaways, family-friendly events and festivals, wedding and special occasion venues, the Windham Downhill Mountain Bike Park and the Windham Country Club, an 18-hole golf course with private lessons and on-site dining.
