Good morning skiers and snowboarders!

The cold is officially back after this week’s brief mid-20s heat wave, and winter is reminding us who’s in charge. We picked up a light dusting of fresh snow overnight, less than an inch, just enough to freshen things up and give the mountain that classic winter look. Snow showers may pass through this morning, and it’s a cold one out there, with temperatures topping out around 6 degrees. Winds will be strong early and ease a bit as the afternoon goes on.

With the colder temperatures, the snow will ski on the firmer side. Groomed trails will feel hard and fast, especially early in the day, with solid edge hold for confident carving. This is a great day to break out your sharpest edges and stiffer skis or boards, as they’ll really shine in these conditions. Favorite groomers like Warpath, Upper and Lower Whistler, Wolverine, Wiseacres, Wraparound, Wanderer, Windfall, What?!, Way Out, and Wicked are ready for crisp turns and clean laps.

Snowmaking is active today on Mini Wall Bypass and Lower Whirlwind, as the team takes full advantage of the cold to keep building and strengthening coverage.

Lift service today includes Wonderama Express Quad (C), Whiteway Express Quad (D), Westside Six (F), East Peak Express Quad (G), Wooly Bear Carpet (E), and K-Lift, keeping plenty of the mountain open and moving.

If you’re heading out, think extra layers, face coverage, and warm gloves. Avoid cotton and stick with moisture-wicking layers to stay comfortable.

And when it’s time to take a break, warm up with a bowl of chili or a hot cocoa. It’ll be waiting for you in the Foodhall before you head back out for more laps.

Dress smart, take breaks when needed, and enjoy a classic winter day on the mountain.
